She is the most successful Miss Switzerland and placed third in the 2006 Miss Universe election. Lorient Gilleron (36) then lived for twelve years in Los Angeles, where she trained as an actress and starred in several films. “But life in the United States drove me crazy,” Vaudoa recalls. Actresses can easily be replaced in Hollywood. Our appearance is constantly reduced. At some point I don’t feel at home anymore.”
In 2018, Gilleron returned to Lake Geneva with five bags and three cats. “You can also pursue an international career as an actress,” she says. She just filmed the drama “Love on the Rock” in Malta for the American studio Sony Pictures, and Gilliéron plays the role of a spy alongside the idol “Scarface” Stephen Power (64). Her appearance in the French TV series “Denise & Raymonde” is also in the box. “I can’t complain about the lack of work,” she says happily.
Vegetarian since the age of seven
In addition to acting, Gilleron’s heart beats for something else: animal welfare. “I’ve been a vegetarian since I was seven,” she says. And for the past six years, she’s been on a vegan diet: “It makes me feel fitter than ever and I’m also more at peace with myself mentally.” Its greatest heroes are not movie and television stars, but animal rights activists such as activists from organizations such as Sea Shepherd or Four Paws. It is also personally committed to the latter.
Gilliéron no longer wanted to return to the United States. “I’m not as patient as I was when I was 20 years old,” explains this single woman. Life is too short to spend as a waitress in a restaurant and hope in vain for a major breakthrough as an actress, as happens a million times in Hollywood. “I prefer to be at home in Europe, where there are fewer opportunities for an actress, but the competition is much smaller.”
She doesn’t want to regret anything
However, she does not want to miss the experience she gained in Film City. “The only thing I’m really afraid of is regretting that I didn’t dare do something,” she says and laughs. “So I like to throw myself into every crazy adventure. And if I end up in a dead end, I will keep moving.”
