Hero wants to abolish more than 50 jam-packing jobs in Lenzburg, the cantonal Department of Economic and Interior Affairs (DVI) confirmed to the SDA on Wednesday. The Aargau Government Council and the Lenzburg City Council were actively informed by Hero.

A total of 55 employees are affected, Herro writes to the media. If more than ten percent of the workforce could lose their jobs on this scale, this is considered a mass layoff and requires a consultation process. “In order not to jeopardize the ongoing consultation phase,” Herro continues, “no further comments will be made.”

Champion became famous for canned ravioli and later for jam. The company was founded in Lenzburg in 1886, and the company’s headquarters are located here. Hero Group has been led by Dutch CEO Rob Versloot since 2012.
