The Playmobil parent is experiencing declining revenues and is cutting jobs. Now it announces for the first time how sharply sales have collapsed.
German Playmobil manufacturer Horst Brandstätter Group has announced for the first time how much its sales have fallen over the past two years. “In the 2023/2024 fiscal year, sales amounted to about 490 million euros,” the company said.
In 2022/2023 it was 571 million euros, and a year before that it was 736 million. Overall, there is a decline of about a third within two years. The company did not provide any information about profits or losses.
Playmobil's mother is optimistic
The company had already reorganized its leadership last year, and announced in the fall that it planned to cut about 700 jobs by 2025. A significant portion of the job cuts are now said to have already occurred. Times are tough for businesses; The Horst Brandstätter Group, like most companies, is constantly suffering from a weak economy Economic inflationWages, transportation and energy costs rise, but also consumption and reluctance to buy decline.
The parent of Playmobil is more optimistic about the new financial year, which began on April 1: “After two difficult years, Playmobil has a positive outlook for the coming months,” the company explained. “Tough cost management at production plants has also led to significant savings and reduced inventory without jeopardizing delivery capacity.”
