After winning 4-0 in North Macedonia, Germany could no longer qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Hansi Flick’s team is still struggling in the first half. Although the Germans are the team that determines the game, they leave many good opportunities to score. After changing sides, it still works: Kai Havertz frees the knot in the 50th minute, before Timo Werner decides the match with a double in four minutes (70, 74). Jamal Musiala puts the cap on just before the end.

With their victory in Romania, Armenia could have kept the theoretical opportunity to continue to rival the Germans for first place in Group J of the World Cup qualifiers. But the Armenians lost 0:1 and slipped into fourth place. With this, Germany was already confirmed as the first in the table and the driver of the World Cup two days before the end.

Flick sets the record for Löw

With a fifth win in Game Five, Hansi Flick set the record start as a national coach to his predecessor, Joachim Loew. And so the two matches went down towards the end against Liechtenstein, which is still without a win after a 4-0 draw in Iceland, and Armenia in November to test matches of a competitive nature.
