With Duchess Meghan (41 years old) simply no rest. In the past few weeks, the former actress has once again appeared in the public eye as several books have been published telling all about her. In addition to the details that have been released, the Duchess of Sussex now has to deal with a legal battle.

Meghan has taken legal action against her half-sister Samantha Markle (57). The reason for this is a defamation suit brought by her half-sister against the Duchess. Samantha Markle is upset by statements Meghan made about her in a big revealing interview last year with Oprah Winfrey (68), as well as by text passages in the autobiography Finding Freedom.
“An unnecessary and a waste of time.”
According to court documents available to Newsweek, Markle wants her father, Thomas Markle, 78, to testify against Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex is doing everything in its power to prevent this before it is decided whether to dismiss the case. Meghan’s side describes a sworn statement from her father as “an unnecessary spectacle and a waste of the parties’ time, money and resources”.
Her legal team is currently insisting that the lawsuit be dismissed. Her lawyers argue that Meghan cannot be held responsible for the statements in “Finding Freedom” because they were written by Omid Scobie, 41, and Caroline Durand. They also state that Meghan’s statements in an interview with Oprah Winfrey about her relationship with her half-sister were “unbelievable opinions which are also fundamentally true”.
