Virtual avatars on stage

Voyage concerts will also take place in the spring of 2022. Small (big?): Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Anni-Fried won’t be on stage themselves, but they are virtual characters.

The 850-strong team relied on the latest motion capture and performance technology to bring the four band members to life as their young versions.

“We rely on our young selves to launch into the future,” says ABA’s official statement. “It is not easy to explain, but no wonder: no one has done this before.”

With nearly 400 million albums sold, 17 #1 songs and currently over 16 million weekly broadcasts, Abba is among the most successful acts in music history. After their breakup in 1982, all members of the band repeatedly ruled out the possibility of a possible comeback.
