About a work of art on a popular well known path in the village Chepstow in Wales Hotly debated: Artist Michael Johnson’s work isn’t so impressed, they describe the silvery, pebble-like structure. as “baked potato”. But discontent increased when the population learned that the municipality had spent 6,000 pounds (the equivalent of about 6,640 francs) on it.

The artwork was commissioned to celebrate the Coastal Walk’s 10th anniversary. It opened at the end of March, and the party was attended by guests of honor as well as well-known conservationist and TV presenter Iolo Williams. However, the audience’s disappointment at the inauguration can be seen in a video: some sighed, a few applauded.

The “baked potato” has caused derision and rancor on social media. One woman joked, “I like it with beans, and my husband prefers it with tuna and mayonnaise.” One man wrote: “We want more stores, no stones or potatoes in aluminum foil.”

The city council is defending its decision to pay so much money for the artwork, according to the Mirror report. A spokeswoman said this improved Wales’ coastal path.
