World Cup in the USA: victory and second place for Tyrol skiers

After displaying red-white-and-red skiing at the World Cup on home soil last week, things have moved on at Whistler Mountain. The competition recovered, but Madeleine Eagle from Rennes and Wolfgang Kindl from Naters returned to the podium.

24 years Madeline Eagle, who won both races in the Eagles, showed her full competitive potential after a mixed practice session and moved to the top after the break. Behind Tyrolean, which managed to consolidate its lead in the World Cup overall, Germans Julia Tobitz and Merle Fribel finished second and third. Lisa Schulte with the sixth fastest time in the final improved from twelfth to eighth, Hannah Brooke was fourteenth, and Selina Eagle finished the competition in twenty-first. “The increase in training has been phenomenal,” sums up the champion Natter toboggan. “In the beginning I had a hard time because of the hand bruise, but I found the right answer on the track, apart from the finishing curve, which unfortunately I didn’t hit in either of the two runs, I’m very satisfied with my performance. It was clear that it wasn’t going to last like last week in Igls, but there will be paths again in which we as a whole team can put ourselves in the spotlight again.”
