The body of a Porsche 964 Carrera was secured by officials from the Lindau customs control unit on Highway 96 near Siegmarsel on Friday. Officials noticed the body, which was loaded onto a trailer, the main customs office in Ulm wrote in a press release on Tuesday.
“Due to lack of time” is not declared by customs
During the examination, the customs patrol found that two men had bought the body in Switzerland. They wanted to drive to Poland with their cargo, but did not declare import into the EU at customs – “probably for reasons of time,” the statement read.
The customs officers demanded that the men were unable to pay the outstanding import duties of about €7,300
The body is safe. The two men, both 39, are now charged in criminal tax proceedings
determined.
Ferrari smuggled out of Switzerland
At the end of May, a customs patrol caught two men from Greece smuggling a Ferrari F430 Spider. According to a statement from customs, the two bought the car in Switzerland for the equivalent of around €30,000 and said they wanted to bring it to a friend in Munich. However, the 54-year-old did not report the sports car to customs when entering the European Union.
