There is widespread disruption in the Twint payment app. Users of various Twint apps have reported to Blick that they are currently unable to make payments. Twint applications are affected by UBS, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), and Postfinance. “Most Twint apps are affected,” Twint spokeswoman Bianca Schmidt says.
The problems started around 10:30 AM. In some affected Twint applications, there is talk of technical maintenance work. Thousands of users are affected. On the downed website alone, over 100 people reported a failure.
“Our teams are working hard to come up with a solution,” a Twente-Schmidt spokeswoman vows. It is not currently clear how long this disruption will last. “Our main goal is to be able to winter properly again as quickly as possible,” Schmidt says.
The twin disorder persisted several hours after it first appeared. This is particularly annoying for Twint customers who want to pay for lunch using their mobile phone. On Twitter, there is a barrage of sarcasm and hatred.
