In the program “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, one of the candidates was so confused that he ignored the program's procedures and even drank his predecessor's water without thinking.
Cologne – During his 25 years of radio work, Gunther Jauch (67 years old) has had a lot of experience on the program “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”. Many celebrities sat across from him at WWM specials, sometimes particularly hot and sometimes particularly unnerving candidates. However, there are always surprises for supervisors and candidates who do unexpected things.

Despite his official retirement age, Günter Jauch is not thinking about retiring – even if the signs of aging in the studio are slowly showing after a quarter of a century. Recently, Günter Jauch complained about his “broken junk chair” and immediately felt the reaction from the production team. However, Jauch always meets interesting people on the weekly RTL quiz show and may not yet have fully learned about some topics. A recent incident shows that the people on his show are still capable of surprising him.
In the April 29, 2024 episode, sales manager Niels Gross (33) jumps out of his chair after the choice question and exults with his clenched fists because he was the quickest to write the solution in 3.85 seconds. After that, he didn't even go to the middle to meet broadcaster Gunther Jauch, only to stop after greeting and giving a quick glance at the camera together. He goes straight to his candidate's chair and sits down, while Yauch stays behind him at the planned meeting point, amazed and shaking his head.

As Gautsch slowly walks towards his chair and takes his place, he still can't resist making a comment, shaking his head. The 67-year-old asks: “Did you have a previous life as a bouncy ball?” Niels Gross takes a big sip of water in front of him to calm his tension. When a production employee places a new glass in front of him, he and Gauche notice that he helped himself to old water from his predecessor. Instead of being disgusted, he seems to care about nothing thanks to his enthusiasm. Gautsch waves to him and calls out to the employee: “Never mind, he will take the stagnant water too.” The statement was accompanied by loud laughter from the audience.
The Rostock citizen slowly calms down and greets the mediator with a rude “Well, hello first!” Shortly thereafter he stumbles upon and directs the first Joker on the 300 euro question. Few shows have been broadcast longer than Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Günter Jauch will soon be a guest star at the anniversary show, where he will celebrate with colleagues such as Thomas Gottschalk (72), Barbara Schoenberger (50) and Frake Ludwig (60).
