RL Nordost: Isner took pole position, best start for the former Schalke U23 scissors

in Northeast Regional League SV Babelsberg is currently causing quite a stir. After three matches, the people of Filmstadt can remember three victories and greet the competition from the field in the sun.

The head of defense in the team of coach Markus Zecchi (previously in charge of Bonner SC in the Western Regional League, editor’s note) is Philip Pointer, well known to Rot-Weiss Essen fans. The centre-back moved from Altglienicke to Babelsberg this summer and played all three matches from the first to the last minute.

The 33-year-old has been active at Rot-Weiss Essen for six years – from 2014 to 2020. He has 175 appearances (14 goals and seven assists) for RWE.

Rufat Dadashov also got off to a good start. The striker, who left Schalke’s under-23 side for his former club BFC Dynamo after two years in the summer, scored twice in his first three matches and contributed another for Heiner Backhaus’s BFC side. In two years at Schalke 04 there were a whopping 23 positions for Dadashov in 43 matches.

Pointer and Dadashov know the Regionalliga West well. This also applies to 28-year-old Marvin Büyüksakarya, who will also appear in the Northeast relay in the future. The Berliner club announced the commitment of the left-back, who was the last contract with the Wiedenbrock club.

The emerging national player trained at Stuttgart between 2002 and 2014 and moved to SSV Reutlingen in the Oberliga in the 2015/16 season and one season after that to SC Wiedenbrück. He was followed by a position at Vfr Alen and Turkish First Division club Adanaspor, and then one season later at Second Division club Turgutluspor, where he scored 77 appearances. During the 2023 winter break, he returned to his hometown club SC Wiedenbrück. He remembers a total of 69 West Regional League games. Now the first missions of the Northeast season will follow.
