Plan your Saturday afternoon at the World Cup of Darts with defending champions Australia and Scotland

The World Cup of Darts continues on Saturday afternoon in Frankfurt with the knockout stage of the unique nations tournament. Among others, defending champions Australia and underdogs Scotland are in action.

Scotland pair Peter Wright and Gary Anderson are playing their first match against the Philippines. Scotland were eliminated in the first round, while the Philippines met the Czech Republic and Singapore in the group stage.

Defending champions Australia meet Croatia. Damon Hedda and Simon Whitlock easily beat Guyana (4-0) and Gibraltar (4-0) in the group stage, while Croatia’s Boris Krkmar and Romeo Grabavac defeated Ireland and Thailand in the group stage.

France suffered defeat in the group stage against Northern Ireland. The duo of Thibaut Tricole and Jack Labre now meet South Africans Devon Pietersen and Vernon Brewers.

Another clash on Saturday afternoon will be between Sweden (Dennis Nilsson and Oskar Lukasiak) and Canadian duo Jeff Smith and Matt Campbell.

How is prize money distributed in the World Cup of Darts?

The pair have a prize pool of £450,000. This event has more prize money than last year. The prize money distributed has been increased by a total of £100,000.

The 36 nations in the group stage will receive at least £2,000 per player, while players from the top four nations will each receive at least £9,000. That amount rises to £40,000 per player if they win the World Cup of Darts.
