Now there is already a parody of the hairdresser “Edgar”.

“Mr. Edgar, what do we do?” hairstylist Chain Hoover asks a client. “Today we’re styling Edgar’s curly hair, straight in the front and with a low taper fade,” he orders.

The 26-year-old from Solothurn frequently goes viral on Tiktok with clips like this. His videos have had hundreds of thousands of views, and clients are flying from Austria and Germany especially for him (Nau.ch report).

The videos have now become so popular throughout Switzerland that they have been ridiculed several times.

The joke videos focus on the eccentric “Edgar” clip, and various English terms that mean nothing to ordinary people. Or the well-known question: “How long have you been here?” (Hoover likes to do this often to show that he serves clients from half of Europe.)

For example, a Tiktoker creates a video about a “Swiss hairdresser” on Tiktok in exactly the same format. His parody: “Today we’re doing Edgar Wallace Mid Starburst Skyscraper Suck AD*ck Swirl, that’s fitting, isn’t it?”

Another mocks the hairdresser’s clients: “Edgar in the front, Hubba Bubba cut off at the sides, and you can insult my mom in the back.”

In addition to satirical videos, the Solothurn native’s comment columns on Instagram and Tiktok are also full of jokes and sayings. Even McDonald’s commented on an Instagram post and joked: “What are we doing today?” “Do you know these curly french fries?”

“Names kill me every time. Just a skateboard trick as a haircut,” one user wrote. Another thinks one of the hairstyles looks like a Playmobil helmet. “He wanted to transform and got the fall,” one joked.
