Lazio Roma – Bayern Munich 1-0

After Bayern's poor performance last Saturday in the Bundesliga derby match against leaders Bayer Leverkusen (0:3), a reaction was needed from the Munich team in Rome. But none of this was actually visible. The visitors had a difficult time facing strong duels and defensive-minded Italians and lacked imagination.

Although statisticians counted 16 shots on goal for Munich, Romanian goalkeeper Ivan Providel did not have to intervene even once. This says it all about Bayern's harmlessness.

As if that wasn't enough, centre-back Dayot Upamecano was sent off in the 67th minute after hitting Gustav Isaksen in the foot with an open sole inside the penalty area. Ciro Immobile, who scored his 200th goal in the series last Saturday, successfully executed the penalty kick. The hosts were already close to making it 1-0 in the 48th minute when Isaksen failed alone in front of Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

When the two teams met in the Champions League round of 16 three years ago, Bayern won 4-1 in Rome. They still have every chance of eliminating Lazio in the second leg. However, the pressure on Tuchel is not decreasing. In the championship, the difference with Leverkusen is five points, and in the cup Bayern failed against third division team Saarbrücken, and now there is a risk of being eliminated from the first division. The performance is more interesting.
