Under-20 national team with only one test match
The Swiss national under-20 team is currently preparing to host the World Cup, which begins after Christmas, in Red Deer, Canada. The only preparatory match against the Czech Republic will be on the program on Thursday. The final World Cup squad will then be announced on December 24th. Originally, Switzerland should have played three test matches against Canada, Germany and the Czech Republic. However, due to the epidemiological situation, the organizers decided to conduct the preparatory games in only one day. The Swiss team will then start the World Cup competitions on Monday 27 December with a match against Russia. The other competitors are the USA (December 28), Slovakia (December 30) and Sweden (December 31).
Foreign striker Lausanne
Lausanne signed Canadian Belarusian striker Francis Barry at the end of the season. The 34-year-old played 411 matches in the K-League (191 points top scorer) and most recently played for Avangard Omsk. In 2017, Barry won the Spengler Cup in Davos with Team Canada. At the end of the 2016/17 season, Barry had completed quite a few errands at Geneva Servet.
