Häcki-Gross is a strong fifth in the United States

After finishing ninth in the sprint race, Lena Häcki-Gross started the pursuit with big ambitions and she did not disappoint. After one penalty lap, lying down and standing, she continued to make her way forward. On the last set, the 28-year-old from Engelberg held her nerve and improved to fifth place without making any further mistakes – 1:15 minutes behind French winner Lou Genmono.

In her best World Cup season to date, Häcki-Gross reached the top five for the seventh time – with her first two World Cup victories in the individual race in Antholz and the mass start event in Oslo as highlights. In the overall World Cup classification she ranked seventh.

Aita Gasparin was not able to take full advantage of her good starting position with her eighth starting position of the race. Lady Engadine also committed two shooting errors and dropped to 15th place. But this is her best result in the pursuit this winter.

In the men's category, Sebastian Stalder finished only 36th after four shooting errors. Niklas Hartwig, who also qualified for the pursuit, decided not to start at the height of the Rockies due to a minor sore throat.
