In 2009, the movie “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora” was released and became the highest-grossing film with 2.8 billion dollars. Movie Date. The sequel was originally planned for 2014, but fans had to be patient. It will be another eight years before epic science fiction theaters begin.
At the end of this year, the movie “Avatar: The Way of Water” will finally be released. After banishing most of the hostile people from Pandora in the first movie, the natives – the Na’vi – live in peace. Jake Sully becomes one of them and lives with Neytiri and their children. The film tells about the problems that follow them and what they go through to protect each other, as well as the dramatic experiences and struggles they face for survival.
A one-minute clip was shown to visitors at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The footage showed the indigenous Na’vi tribe interacting with different species such as whales and pelicans. Much of the film will be set in Pandora’s underwater reef. Viewers get acquainted with a new tribe: the inhabitants of the reefs of Myitkaina.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” will be released in Swiss cinemas on December 14, 2022. But there are already plans for the next three parts. The third part is slated to be released in 2024, the fourth in 2026, and Avatar 5 is scheduled for release in 2028.
In addition, “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora” will be shown again in cinemas on September 23, before the second part begins in December.
