Harmut Engler, 59, and fellow German pop band Bür say goodbye to longtime drummer Martin “Stoeke” Stoek on Facebook. The musician died of cancer. He was only 57 years old.
On June 2, he died of the consequences of his illness, his children wrote on his Facebook page – thus making the sad news public. “It leaves a void that no one can fill.”
Stoeck has sat on the drums for Pur for 20 years – from 1995 to 2015. “We’ll keep you, the joy of your life and your gum bearing you in the best memories,” recalls fellow bandmate Hartmut Engler, and moreover: “Every skin you’ve used has made us better on stage.”
Fans thank you for pure party
His family told fans that Martin “Stoicke” Stoick’s funeral should take place in the closest family circle. Many fans shared their condolences. “My heartfelt condolences. Thank you for so many wonderful parties.” (Buff)
