The musical “In the Heights” directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda features only light-skinned Latinos, according to critics. The problem is called coloring.

Young Latinos live in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, and they are all very good at singing, dancing, and dancing. When they talk about their dreams, it is usually about the desire to escape. But if you think twice, Washington Heights is the most beautiful place.
With “In the Heights”, a happy summer movie is finally back in Swiss cinemas once again. The musical made “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda famous, and we can look forward to this burst of energy. But of course there is another argument about the way the film portrays society. Only light-skinned Latinos can be seen in the main roles, while Afro-Latinos are pushed to the background, according to criticism. This would make Washington Heights really important!
