Bellemo still sees great growth potential when it comes to building retrofits in the heating and ventilation space. Through the strategic initiative called “RetroFIT+”, the company wants to exploit this further.
Retrofitting buildings still offers great potential to save energy and thus also save CO2. In addition to regulatory factors, technical factors will also drive development, company president Lars van der Haijn said on Wednesday on the occasion of Capital Markets Day at the headquarters in Hinwil.
For example, demand for energy-efficient buildings is driven by new regulations and building labels in the European Union, the United States and Asia. Technologically, the growing trend towards the Belimo heat pump is in line.
In order to capitalize on this potential, Belemo launched the strategic initiative called “RetroFIT+”. In addition to new products and services being developed specifically for the update, various sales initiatives have also been launched. Belimo wants to offer its mostly small customers greater support in product sales and fulfillment.
A stable development is expected in the second half of the year
The company expects continued strong development in the second half of the year. The growth will be somewhat lower due to the higher baseline compared to the previous year. However, it will remain within the long-term average. Specifically, Chief Financial Officer Marcus Schurch has set a range of 8-10%.
However, earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) are likely to be somewhat lower. This is mainly due to the relatively short month of December due to the Christmas holidays, when customer orders are traditionally lower. Church also confirmed that Belimo will continue to invest heavily in research and development. So additional settings may cause costs to go up a bit.
