Bribe-Gate: Are 17 Videos Dangerous For Biden?

Bribe-Gate: Are 17 Videos Dangerous For Biden?

Status: 06/19/2023 10:46 AM

As vice president, Joe Biden is said to have collected bribes from his son, Hunter. Republicans are now reporting evidence of this long-known claim: recordings of 17 phone calls. What are the consequences for Biden?

In the US there is already talk of “Bribe Gate”: a play on words from “Watergate”, the mother of all political scandals, and “Bribe” – in English: bribery. The accusation of bribery is aimed at the kinship between the members of the Biden family: father and son.

In 2016, when he was vice president, Joe Biden made aid payments to Ukraine contingent on the firing of the attorney general there. Because the Prosecutor General, Victor Shokin, is corrupt. The interesting thing about it: Shokin also investigated Ukrainian energy company Burisma, on whose board Biden’s son Hunter sat.

Republican talking about tape recordings

Until now, it has been rumored for years. What is new, however, is what Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, now in Parliament, claims: “The foreign national who allegedly bribed Biden secretly recorded 17 tapes,” Grassley claims. This refers to the founder of BURISMA, Mykola Zlochevsky. The source is an undercover FBI informant. “He wanted to protect himself with these recordings if the bribery was discovered,” says Grassley.

But what exactly can be heard on the mystery tapes, if they really exist? At a congressional hearing, Senator Ted Cruz asked FBI Deputy Chief Paul Abbate if the FBI had these 17 recordings. “I am not permitted to comment on the ongoing investigations,” the refusal said.

Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, who is leading the House-side investigation, apparently knows the most: “Joe Biden can be heard on two of the recordings, and former Burisma director Hunter Biden on the rest.” All the conversations revolved around the terms of the bribes: Both Bidens reportedly took $5 million each.

Trump: Biden is the most corrupt American president ever

Donald Trump, who is currently under a lot of pressure over the accusations in the document case, feels an opportunity to distract himself from his malaise. Trump said last week that after he is re-elected, he will appoint a real special counsel. He must then investigate “the most corrupt president the United States has ever had” and the entire “Biden crime family.”

While the US Republicans are not satisfied with the “gate of bribery”, the other half, which is pro-Biden, is ignoring the issue. At the time, Joe Biden acted in consultation with other countries, including the European Union, when he pushed for the attorney general’s dismissal — a concerted action. Rep. James Comer predicts that this line of defense won’t last much longer: “It’s getting harder and harder for Biden to explain. And the left-wing media will eventually be looking at where Biden got the money.”

Kummer’s party now wants a parliamentary commission of inquiry to uncover evidence of millions in bribes and unearthed records.
