For the first time since 2015, Novak Djokovic has reached the semi-finals of the ATP 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. The Serbian defeats Alex de Minaur.

Djokovic defeated Australian Wawrinka with scores of 7:5 and 6:4 in the quarter-finals of the tournament on clay courts. The world number one said: “I suffered, but I am happy with the progress I have made.” Djokovic also managed to take revenge: at the beginning of the year he had to admit defeat to De Minaur in the Fed Cup.

In the semi-finals, Djokovic will face Norwegian Casper Ruud. Djokovic has previously won the Monte Carlo tournament twice (2013 and 2015), but in the last 7 events he has never gone beyond the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Ron was the “sinner.”

In the other semi-final, he faces Italian Jannik Sinner and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. The in-form Sinner had to go through the extra round against Holger Rune. The Danish player entered into a battle with the audience in the final stage of the second set, and after a subsequent warning, with the chair referee.
