Jessica Bibel Schulz becomes President of Tamedia
The German will take over in the fall. It wants to move forward with digital transformation “quickly.”
On October 1 of this year, Jessica Bibel-Scholes will take over Tamedia, to which this newspaper also belongs. Former managing director Andreas Schaffner will continue to work in the company with a reduced workload.
The change is part of its long-term succession planning, Tamedia announced on Tuesday. Schaffner has expressed interest in handing over management at the end of 2023. He will remain available to the company for selected projects.
Peppel-Schulz was most recently CEO of Condé Nast Germany, which is based in Munich. According to the announcement, it has advanced the digital transformation of the traditional print media house. Previously, she was CEO of the digital agency UDG United Digital Group.
Tamedia publisher Pietro Supino says of Peppel-Schulz, “She drew us in with her dynamic personality.” Tamedia’s future boss talks about a “daunting task”. It is important to drive the transformation process “quickly and thus ensure long-term profitability.”
