The reason they chose this property: The four-bed house does not require expensive renovations. A source told the British Sun: “They certainly don’t want anything too flashy or something that needs renovation or more security so as not to overburden taxpayers.”

The Sun also wrote that there will be no permanent staff at Adelaide Cottage. Aides will move to Windsor. The Anmer Hall property in Norfolk will remain as a family home in the country. The apartments at Kensington Palace are used as offices by the staff.

“Kate and William were very interested in a modest home to start their new life in Windsor,” the source continued. “Adelaide Cottage is just a ticket because it has four bedrooms and that’s all they need because they aren’t employees.” In addition, the couple can send their three children to school together from the fall. “They had no other desires than a comfortable family home near the schools and the Queen.”
