Twitter users can only temporarily access a limited number of posts. According to his own statements, owner Musk wants to take action against “maximum data theft.”

SMS service Twitter has introduced restrictions on reading posts for users of the platform. Twitter owner Elon Musk said on the platform that this is temporary and necessary to counter “maximum data manipulation and system manipulation.” He did not explain what he meant by that.

According to him, users with “verified” accounts can only temporarily read a maximum of 6,000 posts per day. For those with unverified accounts, there are only up to 600 posts per day. Thus new unverified accounts only have access to a maximum of 300 posts.

Under Musk, Twitter changed the allocation of blue tokens, which once went to public interest accounts properly verified by Twitter. Users can now get the verification mark with a paid subscription. No real verification, only phone number confirmation.

The new restriction has caused many users to be upset because they can no longer access content shared on the platform as usual. The hashtag #RIPTwitter, which can be translated as “RIP, Twitter”, went viral in German-speaking countries on Saturday. There was also a lot of criticism in the United States.

Then Musk responded and announced that he wanted to increase the limit soon. Users of verified accounts can then read 10,000 posts per day, those with unverified accounts 1000. New unverified accounts will then have access to a maximum of 500 posts.
