Don’t understand Duchess Meghan’s criticism of her past commitment to Money Girl: “Being a subject as a Money Girl is almost part of the job,” explains Roman Kielchesberger, presenter of Deal or no Deal.
Her lawsuit is creating headwinds: After Duchess Meghan, 41, harshly criticized her old job as Money Girl on TV show ‘Deal Or No Deal’ and complained that it was only about her appearance at the time, Prince Harry, 38, is now slammed himself firmly. “I don’t understand Meghan’s moaning,” says Roman Kilsberger, 52, who ran the Swiss edition of Deal or No Deal between 2004 and 2010. “Being a subject as a money girl is part of the job. Whether it’s movie studios or Buckingham Palace, if you want to get in there, it pays to look stylish,” says the TV man.
“Neither Netflix producers nor Princes go to The Climate Show to recruit people. I also got the job at the time just because I looked great, and I didn’t have to be able to do anything either,” Kilsberger jokes. At the same time, he assures that he has always maintained a good relationship with his colleagues during his time on the game show.
There was no sign of sexism on the set: “I was often with the Money Girls during filming breaks. Bras and pimples and tanning beds weren’t the problem at all.” The fact that Duchess Meghan is only now expressing criticism of “deal or no deal” speaks for itself, as the mediator says in closing: “She had 15 years to correct this image, but she hasn’t.”
False eyelashes, bras, and padded bras
In a conversation with Paris Hilton, 41, on her ‘Original Models’ podcast, Duchess Meghan recently complained about feeling set back in her look during her time as Money Girl between 2006 and 2007: “There were different stations where you could get eyelashes attached, Or the extensions. We even got spray tan coupons every week because there was a very specific idea of what we should look like. It was all about our beauty and not necessarily about our heads,” she complains. Even the bras were stuffed.
Finally, the former actress (“Suits”) quit her job at NBC because she was appreciated “for her beauty, not her sanity.” The Duchess of Sussex is also keen to tell her one-year-old daughter Lillipet that her values and abilities always come first: “I want our daughter to strive for something higher. Yes, I want Lily to be educated, smart and be proud of these things.”
