Oliver Batista Meier – a 22-year-old attacking midfielder – last played for SC Verle in the German third division. Batista Meier moved from Kaiserslautern's youth department to FC Bayern Munich in 2016. He made his Bundesliga debut under Hansi Flick on 30 May 2020 in a 5-0 win over Düsseldorf as a 19-year-old. Batista Mayer came in as a replacement for star Serge Gnabry. This remains his only Bundesliga appearance to date.

The second player who will soon be seen in a GC uniform is more experienced: Sebastian Poulter (32), striker for Schalke 04. The former Germany Under-21 international has played in 116 Bundesliga matches for Wolfsburg, Nuremberg, Mainz, Union, Bochum and Germany. Schalke scored 21 goals.

Following the transfers of striker Osuma Abubakar, Batista Meier and Poulter become GC's second and third player arrivals under the new American owners.
