September 10, 2022 –
Contrary to what was originally planned, Microsoft 365 applications such as Excel, Word and Co. It will now be supported on Windows Server 2022.
So far it has been called from official site Always, Microsoft 365 apps like Word or Excel will not be supported on the latest server operating system Windows Server 2022. Server versions 2016 and 2019 only support Microsoft 365 apps, with support ending in October 2025 either way. Companies running Windows Server 2022 that still need to use these applications are advised to switch to Windows 365 or Azure Virtual Desktop.
But like “Windows Pro” mentioned, the corresponding customer feedback at Microsoft has now caused a rethink. Because as Elden Christensen of Microsoft’s Windows Server Development Team said in this week’s Techcommunity post explainedHowever, it appears that Microsoft intends to support Office applications on Windows Server 2022 after all. To do this, he invites the Insider community to test applications on Windows Server 2022 and provide feedback. (research and development)
