Jumbo-Visma loses its first driver

The impending merger between the Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep cycling teams will bring about the first change of top rider. Primoz Roglic will leave the Dutch team at the end of the season, as he confirmed before the Giro del Emilia – which the Slovenian won a few hours later ahead of compatriot Tadej Pogacar (UAE) and Simon Yates (Jaekko Alola). He didn’t want to say where he was going. The 33-year-old Slovenian’s contract with his current employer will run until the end of next season. But the Jumbo-Visma gave him the pass.

Höll wins the Downhill World Cup overall

Valentina Hall won the overall Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup for the second time since 2021. A third place in Snowshoe was enough for the world champion from Salzburg to win the Downhill World Cup early. Hall succeeds Camille Balanche, who won the all-around World Cup last season and who had to cancel her season after a serious fall in Andorra at the end of August. Victory at Snowshoe went to Marine Cabirou (FRA); There were no Swiss women at first.
