Essen-based Medion, a subsidiary of the Chinese Lenovo group, has introduced a new high-end gaming laptop. Erazer Beast X40 is based on the new 24-core Intel Core i9-13900HX processor (8 performance cores, 16 efficiency cores, 32 threads, 5.4GHz Turbo Clock), which can access up to 32GB DDR5 RAM.
GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU with 16 GB VRAM should ensure high suitability for games. Windows 11 Home is installed on a 2 TB NVMe SSD (PCIe 4.0). 17-the customs– The display comes with QHD + –Precision It is advertised as 16:10, which is likely to be 2560 x 1600 pixels (WQXGA). Other key data for the screen includes 240Hz Refresh rate and 100 percent sRGB.
G-Sync is for rupture– Free gaming sessions – Whether it’s an original console or in G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync form is not clear from the media materials. As befits an expensive device with high-end gaming requirements, a mechanical keyboard with ultra-low profile Cherry (MX) switches is installed. It also comes with a color backlight and number pad. On the side of the interface among others HDMI port 2.1, RJ-45, Thunderbolt 4 (with USB-C), USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, SD card reader and headphone/microphone combo jack. Also available are connections for a water-cooling system (the Medion Erazer Cooling Kit), which will be available from March 2023 for €249 (RRP), which is said to be able to increase performance by up to 10 percent. Bluetooth and WLAN should also be at the start, although neither the data sheet nor the press release mentions them.
The 2.86kg Medion Erazer Beast X40 should be available from mid-February 2023 for €4,499 (RRP). Interested parties will then be able to opt for the cheaper alternative with a GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU and less memory – although the RRP hasn’t been reported yet.
