The 20-year-old from Zurich finished third in the World Cup at home in Chur. Last year’s winner Jonas Bosseiger is fifth.

Nick Bunter secured a place on the Swiss podium at the start of the snowboarding season. The 20-year-old from Zurich jumped to third place in the Big Air event in Chur. For him, it is his first World Cup podium. This was not necessarily obvious.

Bunter couldn’t hold out on his first attempt, thus drawing the null result at the first opportunity. After that, he got 72.50 and 53.00 points for his other jumps that started shivering for him.

Pünter was paid a Rank 2 Intermediate, which he had been holding for a while. But because the competition failed at that time or did not improve significantly, the Swiss finally reached the podium. Accordingly, Ponter was subsequently celebrated by Schur’s audience.

Last year’s winner defeated Bossieger

Jonas Bosseiger, last year’s winner, finished the competition in fifth place. Schweizer couldn’t stand the first jump, and the second contained only three body turns instead of four. Beaussieger was only able to use his potential on the third try. With his 73.50 points dusting off, the 27-year-old has taken some places.

At the summit, Japan celebrated a double victory. With a total of 166.50 points, Takeru Otsuka clearly outperformed fellow countryman Ruki Tobeta (140.00).

Geisler is in sixth place

Bianca Geisler was the only Swiss to reach the final. The 19-year-old from Engadin just made it to the final square with eight in eighth place in the playoffs.

In the second jump, Geisler’s rotation was slightly lower. A score of 44.25 meant her discarded score. With 55.50 points and 60.25 points, it was enough for her to come sixth, in the Big Air World Cup competition, the Swiss have never been better rated.

As with men, the victory went to Japan. Reira Iwabuchi, who already had the best rating in qualifying, starred with 90 jumps (90.75 and 90.00). The 20-year-old won by more than 15 points against two-time Austrian Olympic champion Anna Jacir and Canadian Jasmine Bird.
