If you have enough money, you can turn down incredibly lucrative offers – just as George Clooney (60) did. The Nespresso star revealed to “The Guardian” that he refused 32 million francs for one working day. “It was a TV commercial for an airline,” he explains.
Before making the decision, George Clooney first discussed the request with his wife Amal (43). “Then we decided together that it wasn’t worth it,” says the former Sexiest Man Alive.
Doubtful airline
Clooney hasn’t revealed what airline it’s supposed to be. However, the 60-year-old explains: “The airline is associated with an ally of ours, but sometimes it is very suspicious.” So it was all too easy for the multi-million dollar actor to decide against the show. His mental health is much more important to him: “I told myself, if it only takes a minute to fall asleep, forget about it!”
“You don’t have to stand in front of the camera”
George Clooney also revealed why his on-screen appearances have diminished in recent years: “Overall, there haven’t been a lot of great roles lately. Plus, I don’t have to stand in front of the camera anymore.” This is because the Oscar winner made an important agreement with his wife: “I’m still good at standing on my own two feet at 60 and we both love what we do. But I made a date with Amal so we don’t overwork.” The two make this common promise for a simple reason: “We want to make sure we live our lives really well!” (c/cog)
