Faster and bigger: SanDisk expands its portable storage portfolio

SanDisk Provided some new storage solutions for mobile use. The offer ranges from SD, MicroSD and Compact Flash cards to USB devices. Compared to their predecessors, they all offer faster transfer rates and higher capacities, according to the manufacturer, which has been part of Western Digital since 2016.

New features include MicroSD UHS-I cards in capacities ranging from 16GB to 1.5TB. According to SanDisk, the 16GB model achieves a transfer rate of up to 98MB/s. For 32 to 128 GB, it’s 120 to 140 MB/s, and for models with 256 GB or more, it’s 150 MB/s. In line with this, SanDisk offers a Memory Zone app to save data directly from the smartphone to the inserted MicroSD card.

The company offers new MicroSD cards with capacities ranging from 64 to 512 GB for external devices. The SanDisk Outdoors 4K achieves maximum read speeds of up to 190MB/s and write speeds of up to 130MB/s. It can also withstand extreme temperatures, humidity, water drops and falls. Alternatively, the cards are also available in standard SD format.

For photographers, for example, SanDisk also offers the new CFExpress Type B compact flash card with 320 or 640GB of storage. Achieves speeds of up to 1700MB/s when reading data and up to 1500MB/s when writing. This makes it suitable for saving 8K videos directly.

Also new are several USB devices such as the Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C with a Type-A port and a Type-C port and capacities between 64 and 256GB. The 64GB to 1TB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C is targeted at demanding customers. These USB sticks also have two ports, but they’re also housed in a stylish metal casing.

According to SanDisk, all of the new storage products are already available. Prices start from €16.99.
