“It's not always easy to stay strong and ignore transphobic and other ugly comments,” Nimmo wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. It's really incomprehensible how someone could bother writing something with this kind of hate.
The caption, written in English, continues: “It bothers me that I can't ignore it and focus instead on the joy and love around me.” “I am working on it.”
Nemo, 24, from Biel, will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, for Switzerland, at the beginning of May. According to different bookmakers, the Swiss single “The Code” has a high chance of winning. The piece combines rap, drum and bass, and opera elements.

Nemo hails from Biel, and at the age of 16, he beat out Swiss hip-hop greats like Manilio, Gris, Lo & Leduc as an unknown in a live rap battle on youth radio station SRF Virus. Since then, musical talent has become an integral part of the local scene.
After completing his musical studies in Zurich, Nemo moved to Berlin. In November 2023, the star came out as non-binary.
