Rotterdam (AFP) – The German national team finished fourth in the Nations Cup in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The victory went to the hosts with a total of seven foul points after two laps. The Swedes took second place with nine points, ahead of France and Germany with twelve points each. Due to their faster overall time, the French took the podium at the end.
After the first lap, everything was still open: four of the ten teams initially finished the first round with a perfect score of zero foul points, including the German team with flawless laps by David Weil (Dagobertshausen) in the fourth round, Christian Kucock (Riesenbeck) ) on the checker and Marcus Ehning (Borken) on the menu. Only Daniel Deußer (Mechelen/Belgium) and Killer Queen made a drop and a time error and gave the result of the cancellation.
In the second round, all the teams noticed a lot of mistakes. None of the German cavalry remained flawless, they all scored a drop, with Kukuk there were three.
35 of the 39 participants in the Rotterdam Nations Cup are on the nomination lists for their countries’ Olympic Games – as are the four finalists for the German Nations Cup. Rotterdam is the last tournament in which national coach Otto Becker can once again vet some of the candidates for the Tokyo Olympics before having to name the team Tokyo.
