In the 75th minute, the referee, Alessandro Dudic, was asked on video. The issue was clear: Denis Simani hit the foot of Emmanuel Latte Lath just a few meters from the penalty area. Dudic had no choice but to show the FC Luzern defender the red card in front of his fans.
The dismissal had no further consequences for Mario Frick’s team. Aside from Jordy Quintela’s free kick, Gallusstadt’s side didn’t have much of a chance. Vasu, who represented commentator Marius Müller, was able to defuse the ball, which was well shot.
Villiger with the first goal
