Donald Trump desperately needs new lawyers. But no one wants to be his lawyer.
Donald Trump, 76, is desperately looking for good legal advice. But the search is very difficult because no one wants to represent Trump.
“Everyone says no,” says an unnamed prominent Republican lawyer “Washington Post” wire. Trump is looking for a team to defend him after the FBI raided his Palm Beach home.
Trump needs a first-class lawyer
Trump was “Top Secret” documents were found. It is likely that he will be charged for this. A prominent Florida criminal defense attorney, John Sall, declined to represent Trump last week. He says he does not have enough time to look into the case. “Trump’s team needs a first-class, experienced federal criminal defense attorney,” he told the newspaper.
But: “You have to think about whether you want to accept the case.” He explains, “It’s not like drunk driving. It’s about representing the former President of the United States – and perhaps the next – on one of the most famous cases of all time.”

The former president used to be able to lure top lawyers with prestige and publicity. However, those days are clearly over. “He was telling companies that his representation was an advantage because they could advertise with it. “This is not the case today,” said Michael Cohen, 55, a former Trump attorney.
Cohen was convicted in 2018 of tax evasion, false statements, campaign finance violations and lying to Congress.
Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, 78, must now face court himself. Giuliani was due to appear before a grand jury in Georgia on a criminal investigation related to the 2020 election.

Trump is a ‘tough agent’ who doesn’t listen
“He’s also a very tough customer because he always beats the envelope, rarely listens to sound legal advice and wants to do things that are neither morally nor legally appropriate,” he says of Trump.
Those lawyers who will handle the Trump case are not very experienced. American media says that Susie Wales, a close adviser to Trump and lawyer Christina Pope, is looking for additional advice for him.

Bob was present while searching at Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. According to Vanity Fair, Bobb’s federal legal expertise is limited to a few trademark infringement cases, in which she has represented fitness company Crossfit.
Another lawyer for Trump is Lindsey Halligan. So far, I have focused on insurance claims on residential and commercial properties. (European Union)
