More new turboprop aircraft were delivered to general aviation last year than in 2021. Top ten successful models.
ATR 42 and 72, De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 and possibly Embraer again in the future. These are the big names in turboprops serving airlines. Other models are used in general aviation – and with success.
Last year, the number of shipments of new general aviation helicopters increased by 10.4 percent — from 527 models in 2021 to 582 models in 2022. This is evidenced by figures released by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
A broad spectrum
The bandwidth ranges from fast business jets to single-seat aircraft for agricultural use. For example, the Air Tractor is prominently represented in the top ten best-selling models. The Texas manufacturer has been building single-engine bench seats since 1978, which are primarily used in agriculture and firefighting.
Of the 582 general-purpose turboprops delivered in 2022, 446 are among the ten most successful models.
