Dean Phillips is running against Joe Biden in the US primaries

“It’s time to pass the torch to a new generation of American leaders,” Phillips, 54, told a campaign rally in Concord, New Hampshire. He wants to fix the economy. Phillips pointed to high prices and “confusion” at the U.S. border with Mexico. Biden has done a lot for the country, MP told CBS. “But it’s not about the past. It’s a choice about the future.”

Rich, but no chance

Phillips is one of the wealthiest members of Congress. He is the heir to the Philips Distilling Company, which manufactures spirits. However, observers see little scope for his application.

Author Marianne Williamson, 71, also wants to run for the Democratic Party and is running against Biden in the Democratic internal primary. But she is considered to have no chance. Former US President John F. Kennedy’s son-in-law, Robert F. Kennedy also originally wanted to run for the Democratic nomination against Biden. However, he recently announced that he will run as an independent candidate for the White House.
