The last World Cup without Japan took place in 1994 – it will be the same for a while: on Thursday, “Samurai Blue” won their ticket for the seventh time in a row 2-0 in Australia.
With 41,852 spectators in Sydney, the guests mostly dominated the game, but not for long: Liverpool striker Minamino lost twice at the crossbar (31st / 37th) and defended once (80th) by Defender Sainsbury. )
The Australians were basically badly beaten by the staff and needed victory to stay in the race for a live World Cup ticket, but – again driven by Frankfurt’s Hrustik – missed some of their chances.
Mitoma’s Best Joker Betting
Starting with Endo (Stuttgart), Asano (Pochum), Itagura (Schalke) and Tanaka (Dசsseldorf), Japan determined the game in the final minutes: Joker Mitoma added a late brace (89/90. +4). The 24-year-old Belgian striker stunned Minamino in the 84th minute when Royal Union Saint-Gillois shocked him.
Due to this victory, Saudi Arabia will not be able to get a World Cup ticket in Team B Division. This is the sixth time that the Herv Renard team has participated in the World Cup.
Australia, of course third in the group, have the only alternative via play-offs: first, they must win in Group A (now the United Arab Emirates) against a third party, and then there will be a clash. Fifth place from South America (now Peru).
