Stan Wawrinka’s match in the first round of the Cincinnati ATP 1000 against Brandon Nakashima (USA / ATP 73) on Monday evening was canceled due to heavy rain with a score of 6:3, 6:7 (5:7), 5:2 postponed from the destination view of the Swiss. And then the match could continue on Tuesday evening – but not much tennis was played.

Only two matches left. Nakashima was first reduced to 3: 5 on his serve, but then Wawrinka remained very sovereign. In the 15th match he served with a score of 6: 3 in the third round in the dry. Overall, the two played only 11 points after the appeal in seven minutes.

Tiafoe is the next opponent

In the second round, Frances Tiafoe (ATP 10) is another American waiting for Wawrinka. The Swiss managed to win all three previous ATP-level duels between the two. Most recently in Queens in 2022, when all three sets ended in a tie-break, but Wawrinka prevailed 2-1.
