Novak Djokovic successfully played his first match at the ATP Finals in Turin. The 36-year-old Serbian beat Holger Rohn (DEN/ATP 10) 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (1:7), 6:3.
The Dane, making his tournament debut, demanded everything from the world number one for more than 3 hours. In the deciding set, Djokovic initially gave up a break point lead. But Ron couldn’t find an answer to another service hack.
The sinner is flawless
At the start of the tournament in the “Green Group”, Jannik Sinner (ATP 4) defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 6). The local champion beat the Greek 6:4, 6:4.
In the first set, one break of serve was enough for the 22-year-old to make it 3-2 to win the set. In the second round, the Italian managed to achieve the score 1-0.
Alcaraz vs. Zverev
On Monday, the “Red Group” steps in: after the Russian duel between Daniil Medvedev (ATP 3) and Andrei Roblio (ATP 5), Alexander Zverev (Germany / ATP 8) competes against Carlos Alcaraz (ESP / ATP 2).
The best two teams from each group of four qualify for the semi-finals.
