“… Ä swan white as snow, forget what’s going on and wear it like this, wius keni Gränze meh git…” When the headliner Gölä played his hit on Friday night, there was no stopping them in the Piazza Grande.
Party-goers loudly chanted Gölä’s catchy tune from 1998. A sea of mobile phones lit up Piazza Grande. Show Gölä without “Swan”? inconceivable.
But how does Gola get to Ticino? Do you know rock music in the Pyrenean dialect of Locarno? Do the people of Ticino understand his poems? Even his stage name is a stumbling block for Italian speakers.
Annina Frey, presenter of Blue Music, toured the city and auditioned for Gölä.
