Since introducing the new One UI 6.1 update, Samsung has counted 8.8 million users around the world who have downloaded and actively used the update with Galaxy AI functions. The numbers continue to rise every day – by the end of 2024, Samsung wants to give more than 100 million potential users worldwide access to Galaxy AI functions. Samsung announced Galaxy AI in February 20241– To make features that were first introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series available on other flagship Samsung devices. The new One UI 6.1 update democratizes mobile AI and has been made available to the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, including the S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and the Tab S9 series – the update celebrated a successful debut in March with millions of users. The most used Galaxy AI features since launch include Live Translate, Live Transcription, Chat Assistant, and Search Circle with Google2. Nearly 75% of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 users, 80% of S23 Ultra users, and about 65% of Tab S9 users in Europe have already downloaded the One UI 6.1 update – making it one of the most downloaded software updates that Samsung has made.
Following the success of the first rollout of One UI 6.1 in April, Samsung is now directly announcing the second rollout, which brings Galaxy AI to more Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update with Galaxy AI features will be rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 foldable smartphones, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets starting in May.
