VFB Stuttgart: The trio of goalkeepers fight in Kitzbühel for a place behind Muller – Bundesliga

Twenty-two years and number two!

The trio of goalkeepers in the VfB training camp have to lay off important players. Regular goalkeeper Florian Muller (23) with the Olympic football team in Tokyo, absent in Kitzbühel.

Jens Grahl (32) is not there either, he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt. Athletic director Sven Mislintat (48): “The move was not planned at all!”

Due to the loss of Grahl and Müller, VfB nominated two youngsters as well as Fabian Bredlow (26) to the bootcamp squad: Florian Schock (20) and Sebastian Hornung (20).

Bild says how it goes with the trio of goalkeepers.

#1 in Tirol: Fabian Bredlow is currently considered the best goalkeeper in FB. In addition to Kobel, he perfectly performed the role of the second man, and next to Müller nothing will change.

In training camp he gave a lot of interesting performances, Mislintat also admired: “Bredlow is a very complete keeper. He has an amazing left foot and great build for game. It’s only a matter of time before he becomes Fabi number one – here or anywhere else.”

Number two in Tirol: This is where the two 20-year-olds argue. Hornung has been part of professional training for a long time and now wants to be Grahl’s successor. Disadvantages: at 1.82 meters, Nuremberg is too small for a goalkeeper.

The shock is the opposite of Hornung, at least in terms of length. Mislentat: “At 1.99 meters, something radiates!” However, Schock is fast, agile and has a stronger Kitzbühel effect than Hornung.

Perhaps, in the end, the young goalkeeper will end up without a professional place.

Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo (43) on Khalifa Grahl: “We’ll see if we can sign an outside goalkeeper…”
