FC St. Gallen remained unbeaten in their third Premier League match of the season in front of their home fans, but played inactive football for long periods. Then the knot was broken in the 61st minute, where the main event of the match took place: Lausanne’s Calle Saint was negligent in a duel, received a second yellow card and had to shower early – a bitter thing for Lausanne, and Saint had been negligent until that moment. One of the best players on the pitch at the moment.

Two more cold showers for the guests from Food followed a few moments later, but at least they guaranteed cosmetic results shortly before the end:

  • Minute 74: St. Gallen’s Christian Fitzig sweeps the ball from the left edge of the penalty area into the penalty area, where Fabian Schubert only has to stick his foot out – the joker stings again.
  • Minute 84: After only 10 minutes, the decision was made in Kibunpark. Isaac Schmidt’s shot was blocked by Lausanne’s Anel Hosek – own goal.
  • 90.+ 8 minutes: The visitors then secured the final point of the game, with Brighton Labo scoring a stunning header.

There was little to suggest full success for St. Gallen in the first half, and the seriousness of Lausanne goalkeeper Carlo Letica was not tested until 45 minutes later. On the other hand, the behavior of St. Gallen’s goalkeeper, Lawrence Atte Zigi, was an example of the unfocused performance of the Espen team: his drive almost led to the visitors’ first goal.

This is how it goes

Due to the Nati break and the Swiss Cup, the Premier League will continue in just two weeks. St. Gallen will then host Grasshoppers on Saturday from 8:30pm, while Lausanne Sport will host FC Zurich from 6:00pm.
