The chances of the German Federation to win the 2027 World Cup are increasing

The host country for the 2027 Women's World Cup will be announced in Bangkok on May 17. Shortly before the award was awarded, a major competitor in Germany halted its application.

BERLIN – Germany's chances of hosting the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup increased shortly before it won the prize. The rivals, the United States of America and Mexico, withdrew their joint application and want to host the world championship in 2031 instead, the American Federation announced.

Germany is applying along with the Netherlands and Belgium, and the only remaining competitor is Brazil. The decision will be made at the FIFA Congress on May 17 in Bangkok, Thailand. The German team is scheduled to play in Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, Dusseldorf and Cologne. Germany last hosted the Women's World Cup in 2011. The last final round to date was held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
