Google Calendar can be used cross-platform to sync appointments across multiple devices. However, the current version 2023.46.0-581792699 can no longer be used with Android 7.1 or earlier versions of Google’s mobile operating system. While the search engine company has not officially announced this change, users of these devices have found that it is no longer possible to run the program.
Like AssembleDebug from com.TheSpAndroid If you type, you will only get an error message when you open the application. The message informs the user that the current Android version is no longer supported and that an update is required to continue using Google Calendar.
Android Nougat was released in August 2016 and hence is considered quite old. Therefore, Google’s decision to stop offering some services for older smartphones should come as a surprise to very few users. Even though the devices are already seven years old, Android 7.1 and earlier are still used on about seven percent of all Android devices.
Chrome requires Android 8
Since older smartphones no longer come with updates, owners have to purchase more modern devices to continue using the services. In addition to the calendar service, Chrome is no longer available for Android Nougat. Chrome 120 only supports Android Oreo and later versions of the mobile operating system.
