With a fast ride, Mikaela Shiffrin launched another attack to win her ‘home’ giant slalom at Killington for the first time. Unfortunately for her, Lara Gut-Bahrami also showed her impressive early form in the USA. The Ticino car, which was in third place after the first round, beat Shiffrin’s time and led by 81 hundredths of the last two drivers.

Neither Swede Sarah Hector (fourth, +1.06 seconds) nor New Zealander Alice Robinson, who surprised with the fastest time in the first round, came close to Gut Bahrami’s time. With a difference of more than 6 tenths, the Swiss achieved her second victory this season.

Her seventh World Cup victory in giant slalom comes just four weeks after her success in Sölden. She also won at Killington for the second time in a row. By the way, Gut-Behrami achieved all seven successes in giant slalom in Austria or the USA.
